Understanding Feminisms Worldwide - Within and Beyond hbs

This session seeks to help participants understand that feminism has diverse histories that are shaped by particular historical contexts. The session points out that most feminist discourse has been influenced by liberal feminism that continues to dominant international development work. After briefly reflecting on hbs' history of feminism (as being rooted in particular historical contexts in Germany and the Global North), the session pushes participants to think about how hbs' programmes could develop ways of understanding local feminism(s) better and incorporate those in each programmes.
